Research as a form of Continuing Professional Development

Author

Phillip Miller, New College Durham

Summary

This resource starts with a guidance note on the principles of implementing a staff development scheme that allows staff to undertake research as a form of CPD. This document is supplemented with a proposal form and person specification that can be adapted within colleges to support them trying to implement their own ‘Research as a form of CPD’ programme. There are also two case studies that provide examples of research projects that were undertaken by staff during a trial and test of this resource.
