This guidance document is based on work from a Higher Education Academy project undertaken by Mick Healey, Alan Jenkins and John Lea. It establishes some underpinning curriculum development and design principles, discusses relevant pedagogical concepts, and offers practical advice on how to successfully embed a research and scholarship rich undergraduate learning experience. This could be part of a `students as partners’ initiative and/or to enhance student engagement. It finishes with a short interactive self-assessment survey aimed at those involved in HE curriculum management and development in colleges.
